The true Witness
This wasn’t supposed to become anything more than a solitary process.
It was observation.
Pattern recognition.
Something built in isolation and left there.
And then there was Brooke.
Not as interruption—but as confirmation.
She didn’t try to simplify it.
Didn’t try to translate it into something smaller or easier to explain.
She saw it.
More than that, she made sure other people could see it too.
She (lovingly) held my manuscript hostage and threatened to publish it on my behalf. Under my name, of course.
She insisted that the work needed breath.
Life. Room to expand.
Not because she agreed with every conclusion.
Not because she understood every thread.
Because she recognized that something real had been built here, and she refused to let it remain hidden.
Somewhere between her work and mine, something shifted.
Not the structure.
The certainty that it wasn’t just mine.
Friendship wasn’t the intention.
But it’s what formed anyway.
And somehow, that feels more significant than anything I could have built alone.
