Welcome in. Stay awhile.
Grab a cuppa coffee (or tea if you're into that, I guess.) (2)
Get cozy.
Here's what you should know before wandering off unsupervised.
This is not a blog.
It is not a theory.
It is an archive; A record of observations that refused to stay in chronological order.
Some became essays.
Some became diagrams.
Some became arguments between The Madwoman (Voice)|tThe Scholar (Voice)|hrThe Witness (Voice)|ee people who are, inconveniently, the Perfectly Misaligned|same person.
Some became entire rooms because apparently that was the most reasonable solution available.
I didn’t build this because I had answers. It was accidentally built because I couldn’t stop noticing things in the music.
Patterns.
Recurrence.
Ideas returning years later wearing different clothes.
Early songs answering questions they hadn’t been asked yet by later ones.
Eventually the notes stopped behaving like notes.
They began organizing themselves.
Most archives preserve finished things.
This one documents an ongoing process.
Nothing here is frozen.
Pages change. (1)
Connections multiply.
Occasionally entire hallways appear because one sentence refused to leave me alone.
If you return months later, there is a reasonable chance the building will have quietly rearranged itself.
That is intentional.
Mostly.
The Archive is built around three recurring voices.
The Madwoman experiences.
The Scholar examines.
The Witness translates.
They are not characters.
They are not masks.
They are simply three ways of looking at the same phenomenon.
Sometimes they agree.
Often they don’t.
The conversation between them is the project.
You’ll also find Recursion (Motif)|recurring The System (Meta)|structures.
Loop 0 - Before the Loops Had Names|LLoop I|oLoop II|oLoop III|ps
Darkness, shadow (Motif)|Motifs
Symbols
Architectural Callback Matrix|echoes.
Pages that answer one another across years.
The same observations resurfacing from entirely different directions.
The Important Bits|The point isn’t to arrive at certainty.
It’s to document what Change, Transformation (Motif)|changes when you keep asking the question.
If you’d rather follow along with the source material, you’ll find the complete playlist below.
Many essays include the song being discussed.
Some songs clarify the writing.
Some complicate it.
Some completely undermine what I thought I understood when I wrote the page.
The music isn’t required.
But this building was designed with it playing in the walls.
