The Witness

At the beginning, it isn’t love. It isn’t My Past is a Holy Book|devotion.

It’s an agreement.

“Vessel encountered Sleep in a dream, with promise of glory and magnificence if he followed Him.”

That’s the origin.

Not a relationship.

A proposition.

And everything that follows starts to make more sense when you stop reading the music as worship, and start reading it as the long-term consequences of that agreement.

Because the songs don’t stay in one place. They move.

There’s a pattern to it.

First, there is surrender. An opening. A willingness to give everything over completely. Then something shifts. The same voice that once offered itself begins to question what it has given, and what it is receiving in DYWTYLM|return.

And still—nothing stops.

The system continues forward. Even when control is contested. Even when the terms are no longer clear. Even when the outcome is understood.

That’s the tension at the center of it.

Not blind devotion. Not clean resistance. But a constant oscillation between the two.

A power struggle that doesn’t resolve.

The early interviews say the identities don’t matter. That the focus should be on the music and the Teeth of God, Blood of Man. I Will Be What I Am.|message.

** That’s not deflection.** That’s instruction.

You’re not meant to ask who is speaking. You’re meant to ask what the voice is doing.

Control.
Surrender.
Resistance.
Acceleration.

The story isn’t told through a single perspective.

It’s told through the system those forces create when they interact.

And once you see that, the music stops sounding disjointed.

It starts to sound like a pattern unfolding in real time.
